April Week 2

Basha's Bitties are growing...

With some re-arranging of the classroom, including the addition of two play stands and more natural, open-ended materials, the space has become a little more Waldorf and a little less Montessori.  Though I still encourage the children to work independently on specific skilled activities to build dexterity and concentration,  the majority of classroom time lately has been spent in imaginative, cooperative play. I've been inspired recently by a couple websites about Waldorf programs like Sarah Baldwin's blog and The Garden of Enchantment (located in CA) as well as by a visit to the Ithaca Waldorf School's Kindergarten Classroom.
